The following equipment on this page is gear that was personally owned & used by Phil Collen. Phil has given me permission to display these items previously owned and used by him:
DigiTech GSP 2101 – This Preamp / Processor was used for Def Leppard recordings by Phil. What’s cool about this one is that it still has all of Phil’s presets / settings.
Kawai R-100 Digital Drum Machine – Phil recorded his demos with this R-100 in the early 90’s. The R-100 is a digital drum computer with 24 sampled percussion sounds (32 DHz sampling rate with 12 bit commanding format), 8 velocity sensing trigger buttons, up to 100 patterns / 100 songs / 10 chains, and more. This has over 80 patterns from Phil, and several songs including ‘Move With Me Slowly”.
Rocktron Hush IB Noise Reduction System – This Rocktron Hush IB was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour.
Audio Logic Graphic EQ SC31i – This Audio Logic EQ was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour.
Simulator – This custom made Simulator was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour.
Randal Foot Pedal for RGP 1000 – The Randall FS-6 footswitch is provided with the RGP 1000 and controls the main features and functions of the RGP 1000. The LEDs above the “Push on Push off” switches indicate that feature is on.
Custom Audio Electronics Line Mixer – This Custom Audio Electronic was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour. This effect is also mentioned in Phil’s “Rackology” in Guitar School, November 1992 page 22
CUSTOM D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. made effect for Phil – This custom effect was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour. Ah, the good old DILLIGAF. If you don’t know what that is, better ask Stas!!!
Passac Unity Eight U8M-1 – This Passac Unity Eight was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour.
Randall RGP 1000 with Owners Manual – This Randall RGP 1000 EQ was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour.
BBE 462 Sonic (Adrenalizer) Maximizer – This BBE 462 was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour and is also mentioned in the Def Leppard 7-Day Weekend 92-93 Tour Book. It Provides either stereo processing or processing for separate mono channels, brightening, clarifying, and adding fullness to the sound. Features 5-segment LED meters, RCA and 1/4 inch inputs and outputs, and includes a bypass switch.
DigiTech TSR-24 Stereo Reverb / Multi Effects Processor – This Digitech TSR-24 was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour. It enables you to choose the effects you want, and put them in the order you want. It can also act as two discrete processing units, handling 2 fully independent audio lines simultaneously.
Rockman 12 band Equalizer -This Rockman EQ was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour. Its a 12-band instrument equalizer separated into bass, mid and treble bands ( 62, 125, 250, 500, 700, 1k, 1.4k, 2k, 2.8k, 4k, 8k, 16k). The front controls also include input level select bypass switch, output volume level slider and power. As you can see by the picture, Phil marked the settings he liked with a pen. Phil used Rockman equipment during the late 80’s and early 90’s.
Rockman Stereo Chorus / Delay – This Rockman Stereo Chorus / Delay was used LIVE during the 1992-1993 Adrenalize tour. On the face of the unit is: Headroom LEDs with adjustable drive level (-6 to +10). A Green LED indicates the Chorus is on while an Amber LED indicates the Delay is on. The Delay side has a button to select either Long or Short Delay. As you can see by the picture, Phil marked the settings he liked with a pen. Phil used Rockman equipment during the late 80’s and early 90’s and this EXACT piece can be seen in Phil’s rack HERE.
Bob Bradshaw Switching System – Made by Rocktron, was personally owned and used by Phil. This was not only used live on the Adrenalize tour, it was also used for some of the Adrenalize recordings. This system is also mentioned in the November 1992 issue of Guitar School under Phil’s “Rackology” on page 22. “After many months of trying out almost everything on the market (and realizing that what might work in the studio won’t necessarily work in a live situation), my trusty tech Stan Schiller and I blagged, borrowed and bought the following list of equipment and had Bob Bradshaw put it together in a rack for us. The rack is operated by a switching system that Stan kicks and steps on below the stage during the show.” – Phil Collen / The 7-Day Weekend Tour Book.
